Acclaimed writer and director Rian Johnson (Brick, Looper, The Last Jedi) pays tribute to mystery mastermind Agatha Christie in KNIVES OUT, a fun, modern-day murder mystery where everyone is a suspect. When renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) is found dead at his estate just after his 85th birthday, the inquisitive and debonair Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is mysteriously enlisted to investigate. From Harlan’s dysfunctional family to his devoted staff, Blanc sifts through a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to uncover the truth behind Harlan’s untimely death. With an all-star ensemble cast including Chris Evans, Ana De Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, Toni Collette, LaKeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford and Jaeden Martell, KNIVES OUT is a witty and stylish whodunit guaranteed to keep audiences guessing until the very end.

Katherine is on the cover of the June/July issue of L’Officiel Paris. This is definitely one of my favorite shoots of hers. The gallery has been updated with outtakes from the photoshoot and digital scans.

L’OFFICIEL – We met Katherine Langford, star of 13 Reasons Why and Love, Simon in Los Angeles, where the young Australian spoke about acclimating to her newfound star status.

With her tormented interpretation of Hannah Baker, a teenager pushed to suicide, Katherine Langford has touched an entire generation and has even been nominated for Best Actress at the 2018 Golden Globes. Not bad for a beginner!

A 22-year-old Australian with natural beauty and who feels comfortable in her skin, is also crazy talented, with an innate sense of vintage classiness and lack of pretension. She also appears opposite Greg Berlanti in Love, Simon. The girl was made for showbusiness and evidently, her lucky star has caught up with her.

13 Reasons Why has been increasingly talked about in the press due to its controversial nature. It’s also your first major role, right?

It’s pretty amazing to have had the chance to start with the role of Hannah. But just because the themes of the series were so intense, I did not immediately realize the scope. I was focused on wanting to do well, to prepare for my “difficult” scenes, I did not immediately understand the social impact that the series was going to have.

And now, a year and a half later, you’re one of Hollywood’s rising stars and have over 8 million followers on Instagram. How does it feel?

Instagram, I didn’t care. I did not want to do this job for the celebrity. It was Selena Gomez, producer of 13 Reasons Why, who convinced me to be accessible on social networks, in order to establish a link with the young people in distress who identified themselves as Hannah. Today, many schools use our series to educate students and their parents about suicide. It’s very touching.

It is said that your piano playing was inspired by a Lady Gaga concert, is this true?

Nobody in my family is in show business. As I was captain of a swimming team at school, if I had had a vocation, it should have been the sport. Or health, or a public service job. On the other hand, I always liked music, at 9 years old I started to take singing lessons, and that’s when I saw Lady Gaga in concert at 16 in Perth, the city where I grew up, I had a revelation! That same evening, I put myself alone at the piano.
